The offense looks lost. Don't know if we are trying to experiment with some things, but just looks like no one knows what they want to run.

Wow. That was hard to watch. So many fouls. Just about the worst loss I can remember.

Looks like a pretty nice opening night crowd. Cats playing well. I must have the wrong wildcat game on. Sloppy sloppy play.

We looked out of sync and PV couldn't miss at the free throw line.

I would bet that there has never been a college bball team shoot what they did at the free throw line tonight. That was unbelievable.

33 free throws out of 34 tries. PV was about the most athletic team we have played. Plus our pressure defense was disallowed by the refs. We did not play well enough to win but PV played one of the best games I have seen in Moody. I don't quite understand how we let a 5'7" point shoot over, around, and under our 6'10" and 6'8" players. We just did not adjust to the strange officials and PV dictated the game.

Too many fouls, too many bad shots, too many totally unforced turnovers, poor shooting. Other than that.....

The lazy turnovers drove me crazy. Maybe we were saving our win against A&M for football and the flagship school...

Same here. NO EXCUSE for that. May well have cost us the game.

I would like to see more of DeGruy at point. At 6'4" he is longer than McClain and moves pretty well. If McClain can't hit from outside it seems to me he is a liability. We have -0- threats to score inside which puts pressure on our outside game which is inconsistent. We have to have Allen, Steele and Madden be consistent scorers from outside. I wish Simmons had developed a mid-range game in his years at ACU. He tries too many 3 point shots and is often overmatched in the paint. Good rebounder and ferocious defender but too many bone head plays. We missed Bettiol last night. When we have to go to 6'5" Muoeneke in the post, we are in trouble. Don't know what to say about Igiehon's play. Was a defensive presence under the bucket but is an offensive nightmare. Cameron Steele has improved his defensive play and rebounded well last night but is not an offensive threat around the basket. When we went up by 9 with 2 1/2 minutes left in the half, I thought we could pull this one out, but as many have said it got really sloppy from then on. We have many good parts, it's a shame we don't have a knockdown shooter somewhere on this roster.

houstoncat said, "we look lost on offense". Could it be we put so much time and effort on defense that offense is an afterthought?

I would say no because our defense isn’t good right now either.

Just because "we're not good right now on defense" doesn't mean we don't spend lots of time on it. Takes a while. Today, I'm looking for a better "flow" on offense and some productivity in the paint--in addition to Dibba. Would like for Simmons to be more of a passer/facilitator/offensive rebounder than a 3-point shooter. I know he can get hot and make 3's but when he's not it takes him away from the bucket where he can really be effective. Can we win the TO margin today? If so, we can get a win.

He's got to recognize when he is "cold" from the top of the arc to STOP and not try any more. His shot with 28 seconds on the shot clock was bad judgment, as was the same shot in the last minute when we HAD to have a basket at that point and not a ill-advised shot from the perimeter.

One question I do have about both men's and women's basketball is why did they stop showing the team stats at the games? They put up the individual stats, but most of us want to keep up with shooting % and rebounds, etc... Did they do some type of survey or just decide on their own? The individual stats are even too hard to read because it's too much info on those boards way up in the back of the seats. I really don't care about how many shots a single player has at the time. I can look at that later. Fouls are nice to keep up with.
