I went to the game. We looked like little league pitching and hitting. I guess a game like this gets everyone on the bench into the game. Look at the stats and our final batting order. Very, Very depressing. P.S. I could not go past the 4th inning and came home.

First thought: Looks like a football score.
Second thought: Were we just cold and off? We beat Baylor (6-4) and played a close game against then-No. 5 Baylor (losing 4-0). We lose by 10 to Texas, but to lose by 18 is just....OUCH!
Third thought: I also don't like these mid-week games with bigger teams because while you have to schedule them and hope to beat them, you are not throwing your best and maybe not your best effort becuase you want to save something for the weekend conference series.
Last thought: It was ugly, but I'm still a Wildcat fan!

Yes, we remain Wildcatters, and also a strong backer of the coach. It's just tough to play mid-week games holding back pitchers for the weekend. Our pitching was like a turnstile. But the crowd was the best of the year it looked to me. However, my many friends who are local Tech fans are driving me nuts.

It's bad for us. It's bad for the conference. It's bad for the city. Those may be harsh words but they are true. We all understand the issue of saving yourself for weekend and conference play, but every game we play affects us and our conference. This weekend was a non-conference series anyway. So, there are clearly other things to consider than JUST conference play. How bad does it look for the one of the WAC's best teams to be beat by a P5 school by 18 points? The answer, really bad. Glad we are still 19-14 & 10-5. We made some really bad mistakes last night. Time to learn from them (hopefully) and move on. Right now we deserve everything we get from any Tech fan.

Name a team that pitches their best pitcher in a midweek game. You can't, because they don't. Tech didn't use their best pitcher either. Those are always saved for weekend games. Sometimes, you have games like this. Was it bad? Yes. But it's one game and it isn't a conference game. Time to bounce back against UC Davis.

Yeah, was waiting for someone to point out the "point" vs "run" issue, but in sports (even in baseball), we talk about x beat y by a "score" of, which = points; even if you throw the word runs in there. Why? Because a run equals a point... C'mon man...

Why does bouncing back against UC Davis matter? They are non-conference. Don't schedule a game if you don't take it seriously. Glad the boys could play against the men. We'll go play the other boys this weekend. Honestly, lots of reasons to schedule games, but you still have to take them seriously and we didn't last night. Anyone who paid money for that game should be compensated double...

Another run rule win. Another good start for Campa and lots of hitting. We win 12-2.
