I might add to Bucfan’s post that Houston kids can’t run home every weekend unlike the commuters from DFW.😂

My thought is to give away a lot of tickets to kids both in Abilene and the surrounding towns within 40-50 miles or so. They might be excited to go to a college game. If younger that high school, parents would have to bring them (free tickets for them too). What's to lose. The seats are empty. Would generate at least some concession revenue if successful. Could gain some fans. Basically I thinks it's safe to say that whatever has been done in the past hasn't worked. Why not try ANYTHING that has any chance of helping.

I agree. We are an affordable option for townspeople and the surrounding area. I know the Reporter News promotes Tech or UT and A&M, but their games are distant and expensive. At a game, strike up a conversation with the guy next to you especially if he or she doesn’t look “ACU.” I agree that we have historically been aloof towards the rest of Abilene. Maybe then we can become Abilene’s team.

Do we know if any SLC school has an open date on Oct 5 with the revised SLC schedule jumbling up everyone's schedule. As much as I hate to reward a SLC school after the way the conference continues to treat us like garbage, I do think if 1 or more of schools have an open date that weekend, that might be the easiest way to fill the spot with a D-1 school. (I see that UIW already had a game with PVAM that weekend, so there might not be a SLC school available.) I certainly hope if SFA has to pay the WAC $2 million to extricate themselves that ACU might get a piece of that pie to make it a little more interesting to a FCS school.

Sorry, I accidently posted an old SLC schedule. I wouldn't be against playing a SLC school at all. It's DI, but haven't finished looking through all of their reworked schedules.

We've spent a lot of time and energy with SFA and it this thread has devolved into multiple topics. So, since we have beat the Lumberjack to death, it's time to close the thread.
As usual, I have the last word....
I have some info regarding what will happen next, but it's too early for me to say. I have a meeting with ____ _______ next week and I will report the results. Based on early conversations, it's very interesting. Very interesting.
