Sure wish I knew about some guys that don't have Twitter accounts or don't post often. Brandon Colon, Michael Wright and Xaxier Pinedo come to mind.

"Fairfield RB Larry Rose Anyone who watched the 3A Division II state championship game saw a pair of super-special offensive talents. One was Argyle WR Ian Sadler, who’s committed to Texas Tech. The other was the Fairfield running back Rose, who lit it up all season en route to a 3A-best 2,900+ yards. He’s a little undersized at 5-11 and 175 pounds, but his quickness and top-end speed are pretty much unmatched. He’s got an offer from New Mexico State; don’t be surprised if someone else swoops in and grabs him." www.texasfootball.com/recruiting-news/view/180723Yo,listen up Texas Monthly. Larry Rose has an offer from ACU, too. And ACU has put more running backs in the league than NMSU. FBS bias imo.

If a top-tier mid-major or a team from one of the BCS conferences "swoops in and grabs him" it will be understandable. Losing out to a very low level FBS team like New Mexico State will be disappointing though. Let's hope that does not happen.

Emailed the writer of the Texas Monthly column. He said thanks for the info on Rose and that ACU is very "tight-lipped" about their offers. Well, duh!

Wonder why we'd be any more tight lipped than other schools. Am I missing something?

Claiming that a school is tight-lipped = not doing any research.

Wonder why we'd be any more tight lipped than other schools. Am I missing something? You must have missed my post on what some of these coaches said to me and my son after he verbally committed to ACU. "Why would you want to go to a po-dunk school like ACU?" is one. " You're making a huge mistake" is two. And here is one I forgot to add, and it's a big one...... "They don't even have a stadium". Did anyone make the trip to Las Cruces? I unfortunately couldn't because I had a job scheduled in Dallas/FW that weekend, but I did a job in Las Cruces a mile down the Hwy. the weekend before. (Talk about bad timing) Their stadiium impressed me, and more than likely impressed Mr. Rose so much he decided to go there no matter how bad they are. (If indeed we did lose him) With the move to DI, and knowing ACU's penchant for finding under the radar guys and putting talent in the next level, the swooping hawks will only get bigger. Remember, our commits are fair game to the big boys who have lost some of their commits to even bigger hawks. If we only lose 3 commits these first 2 weekends, I'd say we had a very successful first 2 wks. Let's hope our coaches have told these kids we're building a stadium and It'll be done by the time they're a Jr.

We went to Las Cruces. Ate great New Mexican style Mexican food, stayed in a colonial Spanish style hotel (same hotel as the team), and took in the campus and game. We had seats in a NMSU fan section. Great group and pretty dejected after decades of losing football. Stadium was nice and the campus was attractive. Got invited to more NMSU tailgates than I can count as we walked from the parking area to the stadium. I can see why someone might find the place attractive. Not sure what there is about the program that excited Rose though. Their coach had an overall losing record before he came to NMSU and hasn't done much to transform the Aggies into a competitive mid-major. Maybe Rose is just the catalyst they need. Best of luck to him.

With Chris and Bryson in the fold, let's not give up yet. You can throw snowballs in Abilene every once in a while and I'm convinced the new friends will be better for you in the long run. Come on Larry Rose, join the fun. #ACURISING

Earlier in this thread I reported I had heard Christian Rodriguez's scholorship had been rescinded and if anyone had heard the same. My bad and sincere apologies to Mr. Rodriguez. It was Gabe Hernandez and all the more reason for the coaches to emphasize recruiting on the d-line. Christian might be a little slow with his footwork and off the ball, Trackfan, but from what I hear, he's a very hard worker. As long as you show your coaches you're willing to give it your all, improvement will come, and you have a spot on this team. One thing they won't tolorate is laziness.
Every recruit on either line coming in will be told they have a good chance at getting a lot of playing time their first year. (lol) Sad fact of the matter is that 90% of them will be picking pine splinters out of their rear-ends the first two years they're here.
On another front, Wesley Hooks-Holmes visit here was cancelled, and it was'nt by him.

Man, Gabe had some great creds and was expecting to see time on the field next year. But, I hear there are some interesting developments going on. Feb. 5 can't come quick enough for me. I want players on the dotted line and don't want raiders talking to our verbals (but it's OK to talk to others verbals, right?)

Someone should show him the video of the last 3 mins. of the game against NMS last year. Might sway his decision that a group of guys recruited at the DII level almost beat the school he's getting ready to sign with. Yeah, they're BCS.....so what. Like I always told Josh, they put their pants on one leg at a time just like you do.
