I think that we played well yesterday. SFA has laid eggs all season but decided to show up and play their only complete game of the year. They are more talented than we are but have underachieved while we have overachieved this season.
We are going into next season loaded with talent and experience. Everything seems to be looking up.

There are some young men who just played their last game for ACU who will be missed greatly. Peyton Mansell, Jordan Paup, Tory Hargrove, Kobe Clark, Jack Schultz, Shelby Washington, John Brannon, Kendall Catalon among others. Thanks guys for a great season and for some a great career. Wishing you the best in whatever you do as you transition from playing this game we all love. (I know I missed some but these came to mind). I noticed earlier that Reese Moore's name is not on the twitter list??? Reese and a few others were not honored yesterday because they have another year of eligibility left. This completed his 5th year. He will graduate in Aug with an MBA. He is not intending to play a 6th year but was told he would not be honored as a senior. He will undergo knee surgery soon to repair the damage that was done 6 weeks ago. He has played injured and hurt for the love of his team mates and the sport. I was disappointed that they would not honor him as a graduate student…..

That does seem strange. Best of luck to Reese in his future endeavors and pray for a successful surgery.

I wish him nothing but the best going forward. I think I heard that Will Morgan is not coming back either but I don’t know for sure. He’s another who gave it all that he had. I really wish that they had honored theses guys regardless of eligibility. They deserved it.

Will be interesting to see who we have go into the portal. I was told that one player was going in that I really hate to lose. Can't blame him though. Don't think that he will have any problem being picked up by someone.

Not sure if Will is coming back, but his sister told me he was not honored for the same reason and will graduate in May. Reese has lioved ACU. He knew he wanted to come here before he started his last year at Texas. He had made up his mind the summer of 2020 that he would graduate from Texas and go to ACU. I cannot say enough positives of ACU. The coaches, the players…. It has been great. Sure I wanted him to be honored, but ACU gave him back the love of football and so much more. I do hope he will get a jersey at some point to add to his collection!

Look at the stats for the year and tell me why Jermiah Dobbins had zero carries and zero targets in the most important game of the year. This is a total mystery to me. Does anyone have a clue as to why this happened?

Dobbins is one I'm worried we may lose in the portal. We didn't consistently use him enough and I wonder if he may want to consider other options. I hope not.

I kept asking why no Dobbins on the field? No one seemed to have an answer. There had to be an answer of some sort. The most important game of the year and our most prolific rusher had zero carries??? He did get into the game for a play or two, but no carries was a complete puzzle.

Maybe someone will ask Patterson at his news conference about Dobbins. It seems to me that some coach should answer that question. Will be shocked if he stays and very disappointed if he leaves. I have absolutely nothing against the other two backs. All three are good. I am almost certain that Anthony Smith has one more year of eligibility. Do the coaches want him to stay for another year? I wonder if any coaches are talking to any of the players during the season about their futures. I get the impression that the answer is no. The futures of many of them seem to be very much "up in the air".

We're 2 days into the off season and you're asking if the coaches are talking to these players about their future at ACU (and doubting the coaches at that)? Give me a break!! These coaches did a fabulous job of putting a team together for this year with little or no lead time, produced a quality product on both sides of the ball, produced our best season yet as a D1 team, and 2 days after the season you want to cast doubt and criticize them because of how they used or didn't use one player. I originally posed the question about why Dobbins was absent, early in this thread (and am sorry I did). He had a great year and good games especially vs the better teams we played (SFA-182, Missouri-92, North Dakota-85) but his last 2 games vs Tarleton and Sam Houston, 5 carries in both for 13 and 5 yrds indicate a problem. Was he tired, banged up, had bad practices. We don't know. What are the coaches going to say? For whatever reason they thought Banks and Smith gave us a better chance to win. Let's look at the positives and not work so hard to find points of criticism. Seems to me we are on a very positive swing up, have a quality coaching staff that has shown the ability to be competitive no matter who we play and now will be looking to better the team. If someone doesn't want to stay, so be it. Those who do will be glad they did. I'm excited to see the players we bring in this time around.
