UTEP fans seem to be pretty happy. We will know more when the dust settles tomorrow. I certainly have mixed feelings, but I also think Joe could ask for some things as part of him leaving?? Would it possible that Joe is taking a step up and creating possibilities at the same time? I just don't think ACU was going to be able to match what UTEP is offering. I could be wrong, but a lot of signs are pointing to the moving truck.

I think what Reggie meant was they don’t want Allen to skip over interviewing Brette Tanner. If they interview him and he turns down the offer, I think they will go back and practice

I support Tanner being offered the head job but have mixed feelings about players saying they will not practice unless the job is offered to him. Appreciate the support for him but at most jobs the current employees don't have final say on who the new boss will be. I personally love it. I think it speaks extremely highly of Coach Tanner. I also think it speaks highly of our players. |

He specifically said offered the job. This does not mean hire the guy by all means necessary, but does mean they want him to get the offer. If he decides to go to UTEP with Joe at the end of the day I don't think the players will be mad. |

Tanner should be the only option at this time, otherwise the program loses most of the momentum that has been built over the last 6 years. If Brette turns down the offer, then Ward has the opportunity to find a coach. In my opinion, BT has earned the job and will make an excellent HC.
Now my other hope is that Joe hires some SFA, Sam, and Tarleton assistants.

And we can stop with McCasland coming here. That won't happen Completely agree. My options in in order of preference: 1. Coach Tanner (by far my favorite) 2. Coach Ted Crass (Former Golding Assistant.) 3. Coach Jerome Tang (Baylor Assistant. He's liked Baylor because he can be so open about his faith. It would make ACU a easy fit IMO) I think that Coach Tanner is 10000% the guy for the job and it should be his if he wants it. |
