Things we've found out--starting OL Simmons Thielen James Knox Moore
Could be a formitable 5-some
Subs Howerton and Melrose on right side get most of remaining minutes. I see Warner in ocassionally.
Not seeing much FB play. Seems we are rotating Lutz, Miles and Caldwell at TE for the additional blocker.
Neese obviously has fallen on the depth chart.
On defense we look stout against lesser competition with Morgan and Titre; Dre Jones and Schultz with Eades getting time too.
At DE--Paup and Kadron Jones; Obedeyi and Bradley getting lots of minutes.
At LB it looks like Kier, Green and Hargrove all with some speed but still short and overall undersized. UTPB's TE bowled over 2 LB's two different times. Brannon, Nwankwo, Coheley getting sub minutes.
Starting corners are solid in Williams and Stapp. Subs leave a little to be desired (Anderson--good going forwsrd but bad going backwards and Satterfield a poor defender and misses lots of tackles.
Safety is quite a hogdepodge with Moffitt and Washington and Bullock and Richardson and more. Richardon whiffed on a couple of tackles and let a pass go thru his hands but also was involved in some good plays.
That's my assessment but Lamar will be another stiff test for our young warriors. Go Cats bear Lamar.

I knew I was missing someone. Freeny has played well in my opinion.

As we look forward to Saturday, I thought I'd repost this Hudl tape (from his JC days) on Lamar starting QB Jalen Dummett (6'2 220). While he hasn't completed a huge percentage of passes, he has a big arm. Check out the first throw. Very elusive runner too. Fits the option/veer very well. I think the Cats stack up pretty well on defense. The front seven match-ups should be fun to watch. I hope we don't lose coverage on the TE and give up a chunk play. I'm sure the coaches are drilling that over and over. Offensively, I'm interested to see how things play out. If we can get some early momentum and convert some first downs, we could take control of the game. Can our young line continue to make strides?

Taking momentum early will be very important. Last week we were down 3-0 to a D2 team until an outstanding second quarter. Take that quarter away and the game was fairly even. Would be nice to start the game like we played in the second quarter last week.

Depth Chart updates-
Dobbins listed as the starter at RB and White as the backup
On defense- Adams listed as one of the backup LBs. That is a good sign, as he came out of last week's game with an injury. Triston Anderson listed ahead of Roland Williams at CB opposite Stapp

In the games notes for this week, John Brannon is shown as the starter at one OLB, with Cirby Coheley as his backup. Also shows Alex Spadone as a starter at WR -- will be curious to see if he actually plays this week.

That is interesting trackfan. I went into the gameday program for the Lamar game and the depth chart is different. Why have 2 sources for a depth chart that aren't the same? So odd!

He has the size/physicality to give smaller DBs some trouble, and he was fairly productive in 1:1 matchups at San Diego.

I'm not sure how many readers are out there (in fact, there might just be 3 of us), but I was a little surprised that they weren't the same.

It's possible Lamar used the two-deep published before last week's game to create their game program. Usually, SID offices are working ahead a week or so to get the stuff to the printer and may not have made any changes in the two-deep before publishing. Just a thought.

That is thinking like a publisher! Ha! I haven't seen many notes about our game on the Lamar Website itself. At the moment, there's not even an article about our game tomorrow.

From looking at the "program" - that appears to be the depth chart that was printed for the first game. The Game Notes depth chart appears to be more up-to-date, but we will never know until game time

Triston Anderson listed ahead of Roland Williams at CB opposite Stapp This thread is becoming as confusing as the dc’s that are being referenced...just looked for first time at acu site...read and reread Quick Notes labeled Updated ...shows Spadone then Neese, White then Dobbins, Brannon, Kier and Hargrove as LBs and Williams then Anderson. Am I reading that correctly and what’s the accurate listing? Is the current version merely a mistake correction by SID, thus the “Updated” qualifier or SOP?
