So, Tyler Maybry tweeted that Buffalo just offered him. I know recruiting is a cut throat business but I didn't know that it extended to contacting a prospect while on an official visit to another school. Incredible. It may be cold in Abilene, but the high is 13 in Buffalo on Tuesday. Another bit of info on Buffalo, they had a game cancelled because of weather in November. How do they sell that?

Found out of the the transfers- Dewan Edmonson Jr from UTEP; 6'1 285. He played at Manvel HS. RS Freshmen in 2013 and was on the scout team this season. Had a total of 131 tackles and 8 sacks in his 33 games at Manvel. Don't know his name but the other transfer is a DT from Tyler JC.

I hope the DT from Tyler is Motekiai Maile, 6'4" 300 who signed with OKlahoma St and had offers from other D1's including Arizona St. before going the JC route. Others on the Apache team are undersized or just FR. Probably not. OKie St lists him as a "hard commit."

Just looking at the Tyler JC roster--they have a few huge OL--one 6'9" 350, another 6'7" 310. But if the Ngangatau bros. truly enroll next year we may not have a need at OL for a couple of years. (I realize one of the bros. plays DT.)

It could be a freshman who qualified for D1 well after the 2014 signing date and could not find a school with a remaining scholarship. Freshman qualifiers can transfer and have four years remaining to play three. At least one of the Tyler freshmen D Lineman falls into this category. Hafoka Olie, 6'0 300. Played HS ball at Euless Trinity, where he was a team mate of the Ngangatau brothers. 247 sports 3 Star HS player who had offers from half a dozen FBS schools including Mizzou. He didn't qualify till late and Hofoka wound up at Tyler. I have no idea whether he is the one who signed with us, only that he is eligible to sign with a D1 school. There are probably others on the Trinity roster who are similarly eligible. He is just the only one I found information about on line. www.hudl.com/athlete/896427/hafoka-olie#highlights/112975375

Just to repeat, I have no real idea whether he is the transfer we signed. I googled the names of all the freshmen DL from Tyler and found a blog that said he received a qualifying score too late to sign with a 4 year school last year. Others may qualify as well, but I didn't find anything on line to confirm their eligibility. I will join you in crossing my fingers. Loved his tape. He has a nice motor for a big fella. Comes off blocks quickly.

Another Cattitude scoop --- Hafoka Olie is registered for classes at ACU. Olie was a 3-star coming out of high school and was offered by Missouri and had interest from other FBS. As Oscar said, late qualification sent him to JC.

Bogeyman has had some twitter conversations with David Racine. He says he is the man to follow in the tradition of Perkins, Gates, and Gabriel as our go to receiver who can go to the next level. Let's see it "King David."
