Is Huhn leaving? I don't know if he had eligibility left or not. He has one year of eligibility left. I don't know if he plans to return but I assume so.

A question about S&C. There were complaints early on from players that our new Strength Coach was not very demanding. Has he changed his approach? I sure hope so. We are counting heavily on player development for our freshmen and some of our recruits and this begins with a good Strength and conditioning program.

Hey ya'll, first time poster here and I wanted to take a stab at predicting next year's W-L record for us:
Baylor-L Angelo State-W HBU-W SFA-W (A tossup but we played them close last year so I think we can pull out the W) UIW-W McNeese-L Nich-L SELA-L NW St.-W (The same with SFA, a tossup but I see no reason why we can't pull out the W, especially since we played them so close last season) SHSU-L UCA-L
So that puts us at 5-6 which I don't know about ya'll, but I would take. The reason why I have us improving pretty significantly is that I like the talent we have coming back and also the transfers that were brought in. Both of those groups of players will give us valuable depth, which is what hurt us last year. IMO we really didn't have much worse top talent than any other team last year, but we didn't have much depth and that's what doomed us. Now with more depth at almost every position I think we'll be a much better team. Also I know the HS class isn't done being put together but most will red-shirt so I don't think it'll impact next year much. I would love to hear what ya'll think!

I could agree with most of the points you made. The only one I’d probably disagree with is SELA for a couple of reasons. Our game against them last year was arguably our worst played game and their best played of the season. The mix of those two just made them look much better than they truly were. Secondly they lost their head coach, so a new offensive system will likely come in. With them coming from the triple option style, running any other offense will change the way that team looks drastically and I don’t think in a good way. I do agree with a majority of your schedule predictions though

Where is this depth of which you speak? It looks to me like we are still very thin at several positions. Heading into spring practice we don’t seem to have gained any depth over last year at WR, OL, or DE. TE , RB and CB look deeper than last year. I’m going to hold off on making any guesses about next year till I see who we bring in on signing day and transfers at the start of summer.

Year 2 of Dorrel Era begins at Baylor, vs. old LSC foe. Something interesting in this article: One thing that Dorrel and his staff hope will help their squad this season is that – with the help of generous donors – the Wildcats and travel party will be taking charter flights into and out of Lake Charles, La., and Hammond, La., this season. That trend will continue as the program is on pace to begin flying to each out-of-state conference game beginning in 2018. Dorrel – who began pushing for that to happen last year – said he believes cutting down on travel time and time sitting on buses will help his team on the road, at home and in the classroom. "This is a huge deal for our program and something we've really been selling on the recruiting trail," he said. "This gives us the ability to get on a plane and be back in Abilene just a few hours after we play instead of starting at bus rides that get us into town at 9 or 10 a.m. on Sunday. That puts our staff behind in preparation for the next opponent, and it also kills our guys in terms of the work they do in the classroom. Those guys do a lot of work in the classroom on Sunday and Monday, and this will allow them to be able to get back at a relatively decent hour, get some rest and get caught up in the classroom on our two off days. I can't thank enough the donors that made this possible for our program." That nice and should really help the team.

A. Etuk just tweeted that he has been granted his release and will be transferring from ACU. Good luck to him.

Just FYI, unless you are going through Stub Hub or have gotten your opening game ticket through the reserved seats from the athletic office, the Sept. 1st Baylor game tickets go on sale 6/18/18.

I have ACU beating Baylor by a mile, 5 of their players were at our spring game were sitting next to me and were basically saying they are screwed on both sides of ball
