I'm pretty sure there were interviews being conducted as early as Monday and Tuesday. I just don't know who.

I think for at least some of the interviews Lee and the search committee went to the candidate's school rather than them coming here.

Phones, Skype, etc. There are a number of ways to interview, especially an initial interview without the candidate being in your place. Spurrier, Jr. I like the way this conversation is going. Wife is a Beauchamp--any possibilities of a link to Garvin. I see a son named Gavin. Hmmm.

From all the names I have seen mentioned here or elsewhere, I'd target one of these guys, all head coaches and all winners. John Wristen. CSU Pueblo gothunderwolves.com/sports/fball/coaches/staff[/ Colby Carthel TAMUC www.lionathletics.com/coaches.aspx?rc=214&path=football[/Adam Dorrel NW MO ST bearcatsports.com/coaches.aspx?rc=324&path=football Coordinators Graham Harrell OC NTSU www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/graham_harrell_996275.htmlSteve Spurrier,Jr. Former co-offensive Coordinator U of South Carolina www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=210769001If either Briles expressed an interest I would ask the Title IX officer to scrutinize them and vet, vet, vet, but coaching credentials are such I'd take a look..... Thought I would share my fourther thoughts since the search may wrap up sooner than I imagined I have a strong preference for a HC with a record of winning but the coordinators are just too tempting not to add to the list.

Graham Harrell isn't coming to Abilene...that dude is on the fast track of big time D1 OC jobs and eventually head jobs. He doesn't take a step down from UNT to come to ACU as the HC. He has tied himself to Seth Littrell for a bit and will ride with him for a while. I don't see any up and coming FBS coordinator taking this job. Just not enough shine and for most of those guys, being a big time HC or at least OC is the goal. Coming to ACU delays that substantially. Now you could probably get a FBS position coach. Also, from what I am hearing from the ACU coaching tree, the way things were handled is really putting handcuffs on them when it comes to bringing in a former player, especially if that player has ties to KC or Thomson.

Colby Carthel tweeted "People who create their own drama, deserve their own karma..." It is probably completely unrelated, but based on what you just said, I wonder if it could be pointed at De Leon and ACU.

I am curious to know how it could have been handled differently? Not trying to argue with you, I'm just trying to imagine an easier way of telling a coach that it is time for a change? I am also very curious to know who from the ACU Coaching tree during the Collums/thomsen era that ACU would be interested in bringing in? I can think of several high school position coaches and some NFL guys with no coaching experience. I can see any harsh feelings hurting ACU more for recruiting than for potential coaches. Unless I am missing something. You are probably right about Harrell It's probably also true of the other FBS guys. I threw them in because I know DeLeon likes to go big....

May be related to the firing of the WTAMU coach today. gobuffsgo.com/news/2016/11/18/mike-nesbitt-relieved-of-duties-as-head-football-coach-at-west-texas-am.aspx

Interesting... I bet Collums is their first call (if they haven't called already).

Seems most likely our hire will come from D2 and juco head coaches or possibly a FBS assistant.
