Class of 2012. GPA 1.05 9 freshmen inked on signing day. I excluded the 4 transfers we signed that year since their eligibility has expired and they are not eligible for the spring 2015 depth chart 3 starters, 1 back up with playing time, 5 no longer on the team.

Or is there potentially some skewing in the calculation because kids have left?

Parker McKenzie, Cade Stone, Josh Bloom and Keith Barnett are the only ones left standing. They are all rs jrs or seniors.

Like I have said before, if Collums follows them on twitter, it usually means there is an offer there. Collums, Young and Freeman (RB Coach) are all recently following him on Twitter, and he is following them back. He looks good on that highlight video.

Seems like he is a player. Not sure why he wouldn't have any other offers from FCS schools or Mountain West programs. I know he isn't big but he was successful on a very successful team.

I I had the same question. The team was obviously heavily recruited so coaches undoubtedly knew who he was. I had questions about jabari Butler as well. Why didn't he sign with anyone back Feb? He apparently had offers. Regardless, from the film it looks like both would be good pick ups.

My guess is that they were not academically eligible in February and have recently become eligible, but the bigger schools may not have any room for them now.

I met Jabari Butler on campus yesterday. He is listed as 5-11, 165 on Rivals, but he must be at least 6-1, 175-180. Very athletic looking kid. I think one reason he may have been off the radar a bit is that he moved from Nevada to Maryland after football season - a family move. He finished HS at Churchill HS in Potomac, MD. I met his Dad as well, but I did not ask - maybe the move was military related. His Dad is a big guy, I would not be surprised to see Jabari grow some more after arriving here.
He is also a very decent track kid. His times at Bishop Gorman was so-so, but after the move to Maryland, he ran at the MD state track meet and was 2nd in their 4A 100 with a very solid wind-legal time of 10.65 and finished 8th in the 4A 200 (4A is the biggest classification in MD), but ran a solid time of 22.16 in the prelims. Those times standing on their own would not be the kind of times you give a full track scholarship for, but he could rate a partial track schollie on those times alone. I don't expect to see him out for track next spring, but those times indicate a really solid, AND fast, athlete for football. As a point of reference, Terry Ausborne was a 10.9/22.6 sprinter in HS and he was becoming a premier SLC corner prior to his abrupt departure.

SFA updadate.Conque must have been unhappy with the talent he inherited at SFA. He has loaded up on transfers. 16 in all. 4 are Juco's. FBS schools include Army, TCU, K State, Iowa, Houston, Texas State, West Virginia and North Texas. 8 were 3-star players by one of the services. The focus has been on DB/s (4) and Wide Receivers (4).
I am not fond of the rent-a-player for a couple of years approach. My preference is the build your team approach taken by Coach Collums. Conque will either win biig or bomb big trying to integrate that many newcomers into his team.

I'm skeptical of transfers. They are not necessarily better. There is always a reason why they transfer ... Mostly because they aren't good enough at the P5 level.

Adding a transfer here and there can be a great way to fill in some gaps or add talent, but adding 16 transfers seems like it could be a headache. But their headache could be our gain!
