Follow up....Since announcing that he plans to commit at the end of the month, Vliem reports three more offers, all from FBS "mid=major" schools. ACU does not appear to have offered.

Casey Rosellini QB from Cypress Falls coming to ACU for a visit in 2 weeks. Check out his HUDL film and article. TXHSFB Player Spotlight: Casey Rosellini – Cy Falls (2016)
By Christopher Lyke
on March 31, 2015 Cypress Falls QB Casey Rosellini, the future is bright and the expectations for him are sky high as he faces some of the Houston area’s top talents year in, year out. The six-foot, two-inch 2016 prospect was thrown into the fire and handed the keys to the Cypress Falls offense as a sophomore and he certainly has not disappointed Eagles fans.
Rosellini threw for 1,458 yards as a sophomore with 10 touchdown passes. In his junior season, his production improved to a solid total of 2,722 passing yards along with 24 touchdowns including 8 more on the ground. If there is any indication on the tone set by Rosellini and the Eagles in 2014, the rest of 17-6A could see a true contender for a playoff spot in what is one of the most competitive and talented districts in the state.
“In my opinion, our district is the strongest in the Houston area and one of strongest in the state,” says Rosellini. “It seems like we constantly produce college football players, and very good ones at that. Our competition in season is so stiff as to say you could put any of the top seven teams in our district in another district and they would make the playoffs easily.”
“I think what hurts our district is that the talent is so spread out among the ten schools that one school doesn’t dominate each season over another. We don’t have a powerhouse program like Katy or Allen. Every year, any team can win it all. As an example, three of the four schools that made the playoffs from our district in 2014 when at least three games deep and one played for the state championship.”
Cypress Ranch advanced to the state championship before losing to Allen at the Phone Booth by a 47-16 score. Cypress Fairbanks and Cypress Woods also went three rounds deep in the playoffs
While the Eagles have certainly struggled to get into the playoff hunt each of the last two years, Rosellini remains optimistic that 2015 will be drastically different story. “I have learned to keep working and take nothing for granted. Every game is a new opportunity to show what you can do and prove to your team that you’re their guy that they can trust to get the job done,” Rosellini notes.
“I have also learned how much preparation goes into one game. You have to take advantage of every rep in practice, both the ones you participate in and the mental ones. Extra film study has to be done on my own because just 30 minutes of meetings is not enough to understand what the defense is doing. It’s more than just reading the scouting report, it’s knowing it inside and out until you know everything about their defensive scheme and their players. Most importantly, I’ve learned to believe in myself and that hard work is the true path to success.”
So what does Casey see as his favorite games in the last two seasons?
“My favorite two games were against Cy Ranch my sophomore year and Cy Creek my junior year. Prior to the Cy Ranch game, I had started the previous five games on varsity since taking over as the starting QB. Cy Ranch was the last game of the 2013 season and a big one for me to prove to my coaches and teammates that I was the leader of the offense. We stayed with them in the first half, going to halftime only down by 7 points. Somehow, I had amassed 317 yards passing and three touchdowns in the first half. Although we lost the game, I ended up throwing for 395 yards and that game was a huge confidence booster.”
“The Cy Creek game was important because they needed to win out to make the playoffs and we were looking to play spoiler since we had been eliminated from the playoffs. We came together as a team and won in a 57-56 overtime thriller. Thanks to the offensive line and wide receivers, I was able to break the Cy Falls school record for touchdown passes in a game with seven and threw for over 400 yards. That game, to me, set the tone for our team not only for the next game but for the next year with many of us returning for our senior year in 2015.”
rosellini2Casey owes a lot of his success and future prospects to Cypress Falls head coach Kirk Eaton. “Coach Eaton is more than just a coach. He plays many roles and wears many hats in our program. He does everything from organizing fundraisers to helping with school events and is a father figure to a lot of players on our team and tries to put everyone in the best situation to succeed on and off the field.”
“With Coach Eaton, we know we are going to get 100 percent from him to make us better players and people. He refuses to give up on any player regardless of the trouble they have been in and believes everyone needs a second chance. He is also someone I am comfortable talking with about other things than just football and has been a big supporter of my football success as well as my academic success. As an example, when he got my SAT scores, he tweeted to 20 college coaches my score (1,880), GPA (4.79), and career stats at Cypress Falls. I was really moved by this.”
As for his collegiate prospects, Rosellini is keeping his options open and is looking forward to the summer to make more connections and land more impressions.
“So far, I have received a lot of mail, but the main schools that have shown real interest are Rice, Tulane, and many of the Ivy League schools. I was invited to a private workout with Cal last summer and also to a game in September.”
“I have been invited to the Elite 11 and will attend in Chicago on May 3rd. Northwestern University want to see me throw on their campus so I hope to tie the two together. I also attend Football University each year. I have received many invitations to camps in emails, twitter and mail but will wait until after spring football is over to decide on which ones to attend.”

Sounds like a great kid. I fear too much interest from FBS schools would keep him from coming to ACU, but it would be nice to land a recruit like Rosellini.

Casey tweeted, "so pumped about my visit to ACU in a couple of weeks." Probably says that about all visits but none the less it's great to get this calibre of kid on campus. Can't see anything but good as a result.

Don't forget that "interest" by an FBS school doesn't always translate into offers from those schools. Big schools target perhaps 30-40 guys but keep other prospects pm the hook if needed to fill out a class.
Collums has personally recruited Koy McMillon, 6'4 1/2" 255 tight end Abilene High class of 2016. TCU and SMU have also been in contact. Brother of Jake McMillon, DT at Texas. Dad/granddad are ACU grads. Has a cousin who is a 6'3" volleyball player but I'm not sure which high school. Keep an eye on Jake ... He has changed position a couple of times and keeps slipping down the depth chart. Dad transferred to ACU from Baylor to play ball.

My son experienced this first-hand. Would be a great pickup to get a kid of this character. Also would be great to somehow get the McMillon brothers. I can also attest to ACU ties being strong in a kid's decision to play somewhere like ACU.

Jake McMillon is at UT - spent fall of 2014 redshirting. At the beginning of last fall, he was moved to offensive guard and played there all fall. I read on-line that he was moved back to defensive tackle last spring and spent all of the spring there. Looking on-line, he is not listed on any of the depth charts I found, even the ones that go 4-deep. Jake will have a real battle to get playing time at UT this coming season, but he is still just a redshirt freshman. Father, Matt McMillon, played at ACU a year or two.
The cousin you mention is Molly Phillips, daughter of Marci (McMillon)Phillips and John Phillips - John also played football at ACU. Molly is a terrific volleyball player - I have seen her play. However, the recruiting battle that will no doubt shape up to get her is still a few years away - she will be a HS freshman this coming year and is a projected 2019 HS grad. They live in the Mansfield area, but I don't know what HS she will go to - should be able to find out in just a few months.

Jake is back on defense. But they have several defensive linemen who were injured in the spring and have some new guys coming in. He's got an uphill battle down there. Seems strange they would move him to defense since the Rivals depth chart shows a shortage of offensive guards. Maybe Rivals does not have that right either. One of the UT linemen who transferred wound up at Sam Houston but they have lost several to transfer or dismissal. But it would be great for us if he transfers to ACU and influences his bro to join him.

Looks like Jesse Ebozue, WR from Arlington Bowie and previously mentioned by MAVSMAN, has received an offer.
